Woman 84 Dies at Fowlerton
Mrs. Nancy Yarbrough, 84, pioneer
woman of Southwest Texas, died at
4 a.m. Thursday at Fowlerton. The
remains were brought to Cotulla last
night and will be interred in the Co-
tulla cemetery today.
Deceased was born in Williamson
county and moved to the Frio river
in McMullen with her parents just
before the Civil war, and later to this
county, 1886, where she has since
lived. She was the mother of nine
childen, six or whom survive, as
follows: J. S. Yarbrough, Cotulla;
Mrs. Betty Edwards, Uvalde county;
Mrs. Pearle Brown, Asherton; Dave
Yarbrough, Webb county; Mrs. L.
Blakeley, New Mexico; Kid Yar-
brough of Hebbronville.

Renee's Notes: Nancy White Yarbrough, daughter of Headley Coburn White and Lydia J. Wright, was born on August 28, 1846 in Leon County, Texas and died on February 12, 1931 in Fowlerton, La Salle County, Texas. She married Lorenzo Dow Yarbrough on November 30, 1863 in Live Oak County, Texas. Dow and Nancy are both buried in the Old Cotulla Cemetery. Nancy has no headstone.
