The State of Texas
County of Gonzales
Know all men by these presents
that I Anderson Eckols, of the
County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of
the sum of One Thousand? Dollars to me in hand paid
the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have this day
given, granted, bargained and sold and by these presents
to give, grant, bargain and sell unto John Yarbrough
of the same residence the following described piece of parcells
or tracts of land (sic): The first tract situated, (the location
of the survey has been ommitted) The Second tract of land
is also in said County and a part of the Headright of (sic)
Smith containing Eighty four acres of land more or less
and (sic) as follows on the waters of Smith Creek
about two miles about South West of the San Marcus
river and about 12 miles up said river from its mouth.
Beginning at the South corner (rest of survey description
has been ommitted)

to have and to hold unto him the said John Yar-
brough and his heirs and assigns together with
all and singular the rights members, privileges and
apprentenances to the same elonging or in anywise
(sic) and I the said A Z Eckols (sic)
(sic) and with the said J. Yarbrough (sic) that I lawfully
seized of the (sic) premises that I have a good
right t sell and convey the same and that I (sic)
my heirs, executors, and administrators shall forever
(sic)out and defend the right and (sic) in and to the
aforesaid land and premises. In Testimony whereas I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 8th
day of November A D 1854.

Chief Justice of said County
on this 8th day November A D 1854 came the above named
Anderson Eckols who acknowledged the signature
to the foregoing Deed to be his act and deed for the uses
pruposes and considerations set forth in said instrument.
