- JONES, Burr W.; was born at Union, Rock County, Wisconsin,
March 9, 1846; received a
- classical education, graduating from the Wisconsin State
University in 1870, and afterwards from the Law School of that
Institution; was admitted to the bar in 1871, and engaged in
practice at Madison, Wisconsin; was elected District Attorney
in 1872, and re-elected in 1874; declined a re-nomination; was
elected a Representative from Wisconsin to the Forty-eighth Congress.
