- RED ROCK township [Mower County, Minnesota], organized in
1858, was named by its first
- settler, John L. JOHNSON, who came from Rock county, Wisconsin,
in October, 1855. His first home here was in Red Rock grove in
section 4, this name being suggested "by a large red rock
in the grove, the only one of the kind to be found for miles
around."
