"John L. Johnson"

RED ROCK township [Mower County, Minnesota], organized in 1858, was named by its first
settler, John L. JOHNSON, who came from Rock county, Wisconsin, in October, 1855. His first home here was in Red Rock grove in section 4, this name being suggested "by a large red rock in the grove, the only one of the kind to be found for miles around."
