JAMES WILSON WARD, son of Rev. James Wilson, and Hetta L. (HAYES) WARD, was
born in Abington, Dec. 1, 1836; fitted for college at Abington High School; Amherst Coll., '54-'55, and '58-'60; Beloit Coll., '57- '58. Teacher, Guilford Academy, Ct., '60-'62; Andover T. S., '62-'65; s.s., First church, West Newbury,'65-'66; s.s., First church, Bridgewater, '66-'67; ordained as evangelist, Oct. 15, 1868; p., Rochester, '68-'71. Wrote many articles for the religious papers, chiefly poetry. Died from paralysis, at Schuylkill Haven, Pa., Oct. 80, 1875. Unmarried. [Alumnus of Amherst College, 1860]
