1833; fitted for college at Cottage Hill Academy, Ellsworth,
O.; Western Reserve Coll., '52-'53; Amherst Coll., '53-'56. Teacher,
Cottage Hill Academy, Ellsworth, O., five years; at Jackson,
O., two years; among the Freedmen, at Baton Rouge, La., fourteen
months; principal of Union Schools, Newton Falls, O., one year;
of Lancaster Institute, Wis., two years; teacher of mathematics,
Albion Academy, five years; licensed to preach by the Beloit
Convention of Congregational churches, 1872; for some years preached
nearly every week in connection with his teaching; ordained at
Sun Prairie, Wis., Dec. 9. 1874, and a.p., '74-'78; a.p., East
Troy. Wis., since '78. Married, Mar. 4, 1864, Emily, dau. of
John BINGHAM, of Ellsworth, O. Two children. P.O. address, East
