1808; fitted for college with Mr. Mason of Westfield, N.Y., and
at Oneida Institute, N.Y. Andover T.S., '37-'38; Union T.S.,
'38-'39; ordained as evangelist at Springfield, July 23, 1839;
p., Presbyterian church, Maysville, N.Y., '40-'42; s.s., Beaver
Dam, Wis., '45-'50; General Agent of Am. Tract Society, in Michigan,
Wisconsin, Northern Indiana, and Illinois, headquarters at Chicago,
'50-'56; Diet. Sec., A.B.C.F.M., for the Northwest, Beloit, Wis.,
'56-'57; w.c., Beloit, Wis., '57-'59. Died from apoplexy, at
Beloit, Wis., Feb. 25, 1859. Married, July 29, 1839, Laura Abigail,
dau. of Harvey BLISS, of West Springfield. Eight children. [Alumnus
