HOPE BROWN, [Fitchburg], son of Elijah and Rhoda (WHEELER) BROWN, was born in
Concord, Feb. 16, 1798; fitted for college at Amherst Academy. Princeton T.S., '28-'30; ordained, June 29, 1830, at Shirley, and p., '30—'45; p., Napierville, Ill., '45-'56; General Agent of the Rockford Female Seminary, '56-'70; w.c., Rockford, Ill. ; Beloit, Wis. While in Napierville, held for seven years the position of County School Commissioner. Married Mary P., dau. of Benjamin FULLER, of Fitchburg, April 12, 1831. Five children. P.O. address, Beloit, Wis. [Alumnus of Amherst College, 1828]
