- BREWSTER, was born in Salem, Nov. 23, 1837; fitted for college
at Salem Grammar School. Harvard Medical School, '58 -'61, and
'64—'65 ; 2d Lieut., 8th Regt. Mass. Vols., '61 ; Capt.,
23d Mass. Vols., '61-'63, and Major. '63-'64 ; M.D., Harvard,
1865; practised in Janesville, Wis., '65-'71 ; at Escanaba, Mich.,'71-'77.
Died from pneumonia, at Escanaba, Mich., Apr. 5, 1877. Married.
(1) Sept. 21, 1861, Laura Alice, dau. of Calvert PHILLIPS, of
Great Falls, N.H., who died July 21, 1869; (2) Apr. 21, 1873,
Sarah Elizabeth, dau. of William KINGSLEY, of Eseanaba, Mich.
