- Among the pioneer settlers of Union Township is the original
of
- accompanying portrait. Mr. Alfred C. FISH, was born in Connecticut,
in the year 1816, he migrated to this State and took up a claim
in 1842, in 1845 he returned to Ohio and was married to Miss
Phebe BRAINARD, accompanied by whom, he came back to this Township
in 1848 where he has since resided. His home is pleasantly situated
on the Madison road, about one mile from Evansville, where he
has his wants attended to by his only daughter Delia, and where
he will enjoy the fruits of early industry until summoned to
join the vast throng who people the silent city.
