"Rev. Elder Cary"

Rev. CARY. Elder CARY was a man of unbiased judgment and earnest convictions; with more of
dignity than is usual, and prematurely gray from ill health. His preaching was Biblical and impressive. He was married March 12, 1815, to Miss Susannah RICE, his companion of more than half a century. Their son Roswell, educated at Hillsdale College, and a prominent member of the Nashville, Tenn., bar, died in February, 1868. Of their seven children who survived at his death, Benjamin, who died a few years ago, had served as a member of the Wisconsin Legislature, and, for six years, as Treasurer of Rock County; and Ephraim, Abram, and Richard are useful members of the Johnstown church.
