- CLARENCE W. JACKMAN, of the firm of H. BUCHHOLZ & Co.,
of Janesville, was born in
- this city on the 27th day of July, 1853. In 1874, before
he was twenty-one years of age, he engaged in the livery business
at Janesville, which he carried on till the fall of 1885. In
the following May, he bought into the business, in which he is
now engaged.
- In Janesville on the 3d day of August, 1874, Mr. JACKMAN
was united in marriage with Miss
- Leahretta McDOUGALL, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a daughter
of Alfred McDOUGALL. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
One child has been born of their union, Ralph W., born at Janesville,
Dec. 31, 1875. Mr. JACKMAN is a member of Oriental Lodge, No.
22, K. of P., and also a member of Olive Branch Lodge, No. 36,
A. O. U. W. He is one of the enterprising young businessmen
of Janesville, and is identified with the growing and prosperous
industries of the city.
