- MRS. ALMIRA STILES DEWY, the adopted daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Benjamin MORRILL,
- came to Janesville in the fall of 1844. She was born at
St. Johnsbury, Vt., August 8, 1826, and was married to Alfred
DEWEY, March 17, 1847. They have lived in Janesville since,
honored and respected by all. Mrs. DEWEY has been confined to
an upper chamber many years by invalidism. She is a charter
member of the Congregational church.
