- CLINTON W. MOORE, farmer, Sec. 8 [Union Township]; P.O. Evansville;
born Sept. 8, 1836,
- in Durham, Greene Co., N.Y.; came to Wisconsin Nov. 7, 1853,
and worked for his father until 1806, when he bought his farm
of eighty-three and one-half acres. In the fall of 1864, he enlisted
in the 44th W.V.I., and served with them till the fall of 1865,
when he received his discharge. The land was wild when he purchased
it, but it is now thoroughly cultivated, and he has built a large
barn, enlarged and improved the house, and made many other improvements.
He raises general farm produce, stock, grain, hay, etc. Married
Miss Abbie J. BABCOCK, of Magnolia Township, Nov. 10, 1856. Had
five children - Phila, born Sept. 17, 1859, died April 16, 1860;
Albert O., born June 17, 1861; Myrtie, born Aug. 5, 1867; Guy,
born October 25, 1875; Arthur, born Jan. 22, 1879. He is a Director
of the School District, has served as Pathmaster five years,
and is a member of the Evansville Grange.
