- 1815; came to Wisconsin March 5, 1846, and settled on his
present homestead, having visited Wisconsin the previous year.
Owns 185 acres on Section 11, beside 480 acres in Iowa. Married,
in 1842, Miss Clarinda CHIPMAN, who was born in Windham Co.,
Vt., Feb. 23, 1821. Have six children - Ella, born Nov. 13,
1843; Alonzo, born April 6, 1846; Mary E., born Sept. 15, 1849;
Sarah S., born Sept. 8, 1851; Kirk, born May 10, 1856; Lillian
B., born Dec. 15, 1859; Levi A., born April 11, 1845, died April
22, 1847. Was Supervisor two terms; served on the School Board
for some years; attend the United Brethren Church.
