- EPHRAIM PALMER, Edgerton, born in Exeter, Otsego Co., N.Y.,
Dec. 14, 1798; his parents
- were Christopher and Rebecca (WHEELER) PALMER; he came to
Wisconsin in May, 1857, and settled on his present homestead
in Sec. 4 - fifty acres, valued at $100 per acre. Married, in
June, 1823, Abigail BROWN, daughter of Jabez BROWN, of Madison
Co., N.Y.; she died in January, 1860, leaving three children
- Maria, Henry (now doctor in Janesville), Eloisa. He married
again, in August, 1865, Mrs. Henrietta SAUNDERS (widow), daughter
of Sylvester CARPENTER. Mr. PALMER was elected Justice of the
Peace in 1865, which office he held for two terms; in 1861, was
elected member for the Legislative Assembly; was Chairman of
the Board of Supervisors one term. Member of No. 63, Masonic
Lodge, Fulton; member of I.O.O.F., and Sons of Temperance. Members
of Baptist Church. Republican.
