- HUBERT H. DICKINSON, Proprietor U.S. Hotel and Livery Stable;
P.O. Edgerton; born in
- Denmark, Lewis Co., N.Y., Feb. 10, 1836; came to Wisconsin
in the spring of 1855. Settled at Edgerton, Rock Co.; commenced
to learn house-painting with his brother C. H., who came one
year earlier. In 1859-60, went to farming, in Darlington, Lafayette
Co. About 1861, he went to the Nevada Silver Mines; remained
there four years and returned to Edgerton via Canada, after making
a visit to his friends and relatives in New York. He married,
March 15, 1868, Miss Ellen C. HUDSON, daughter of John and Mary
HUDSON, formerly of England. They had two children - Lewis J.,
born Oct. 3, 1872; Mary Jane, born May 9, 1874. He is a Mason
of Fulton Lodge, No. 61, I.O.O.F., Lodge 133, Edgerton. Plants
five acres of tobacco each year, on Sec 3, and owns the land.
Liberal in religion and politics.
