- STEPHEN CARD, farmer, Sec. 4; P.O. Beloit; born in Province
of Nova Scotia in 1812; he
- lived there with his parents until 1832, then went to Canada
and lived near Toronto till 1838, and that year came to Shetland,
Winnebago Co., Ill. where he lived until 1869; he then came to
Beloit Township and bought 100 acres of land from William WASHBURN,
in Sec. 4, with residence and all improvements. He married,
in Shetland, Ill., in 1852, Julia A SEATON; they had five children,
three living at home with parents; the other two are married
and away from home.
