"G. H. Sperbeck"

G. H. SPERBECK, proprietor of the Commercial Hotel; was born in Perry, Wyoming Co.,
N.Y., March 5, 1837, and came to Wisconsin the latter part of September, 1846, locating at Delavan, Wis., where he received his education and assisted his father in farming; he moved to Darien, Wis., and opened the Farmers' Hotel, then to Sharon, Wis., and opened the Vedder House, now known as the Central House; from Sharon he moved to Darien and thence to Beloit, where he opened the Commercial House, which he is now running with excellent success; Mr. SPERBECK was Justice of the Peace at Darien, Constable for two terms, and also member of the School Board at the same place. He married, Dec. 25, 1858, Henrietta JONES of New York.
