- CHARLES FOUNTAIN, farmer, Sec. 15; P.O. Beloit; born in Richland
Co., N.Y., March,
- 1802, came to Beloit in 1847, and bought eighty acres in
Sec. 15; he built the residence he occupies, with barns, etc.,
and afterward bought fifty-five acres more, twenty acres of which
he disposed of, and now owns, in all, one hundred and fifteen
acres in Sec. 15. He married, in Richland Co., N.Y., in 1825,
Margaret WOOD; they had eight children; his wife died in 1854,
in Beloit; he married again, in 1856, Mary FOSTER, widow of Alanson
FOSTER, and sister of his first wife; his children are living
and away from home, except one son, who works the farm and lives
with his parents.
