- W. H. CALVERT, gunsmith, fishing tackle and cutlery, East
Bridge street; was born in Le Roy,
- Genesee Co., N.Y., May 20, 1834; came to Wisconsin in 1854
and located in Beloit; he learned the trade of gunsmith in his
native town, and when 20 years of age, came to Beloit and started
in business for himself. In the fall of 1862, he enlisted in
the 22d W.V.I., Co. B., Capt. NORTHROP; on account of ill health,
was mustered out Jan. 1, 1863. He married on the 15th of May,
1853, Mary A. KINGSBURY, who was born in Stafford, Genesee Co.,
N.Y.; have had two children - one now living - Eva.
