- JEROME BOYNTON, farmer, Sec. 18; P.O. Emerald Grove; born
in New York State
- November, 1842; came to Wisconsin in 1845, locating at Johnstown.
April 1, 1852, moved to Emerald Grove. In April, 1854, his father
commenced farming on Section 18, where he had purchased 280 acres.
The early part of Jerome's life was spent on his father's farm.
In the spring of 1869, he purchased eighty acres on Section 18,
his present homestead. Married in 1867, Miss Catherine A. SCOTT,
a native of Wisconsin. They have five children - Charles, born
Nov. 5, 1869; Arthur, born Dec. 11, 1870; Ray, born May 12, 1872;
Nettie, born Oct. 15, 1874; Le Roy, born Oct. 15, 1877. Was Pathmaster
one year; Republican. The family are members of the Congregational
Church.
