- PIERCE WALLIHAN, Footville; was born in Columbiana Co., Ohio,
in 1810; until he was 17
- years of age, he was engaged in farming; in 1828, he went
to Youngstown to learn the tailor's trade; commenced business
for himself in 1832; came to Wisconsin in 1855, and located in
what is now called Footville, and went into the mercantile business;
continued that until 1859, then went to farming; followed that
for three years, then went to Colorado; was Postmaster there
for five years; returned to Footville in 1876; served as Town
Treasurer since his residence in the town. Married Miss Lucy
FLOWER in 1832; she was born in Ohio; she died in March, 1877;
they had eleven children; three are dead; in 1878, Mr. W. married
Miss Mary E. POWERS, a native of Ohio. He owns twelve acres of
land and a pleasant home. Mr. and Mrs. W. are members of the
M. E. Church.
