- D. SILVERTHORN, farmer, Sec. 33; P.O. Footville; was born
in Warren Co., N.J., in 1821;
- in 1845 he went to Pittston, Penn.; worked at millwrighting
for one year, boat-building for three years; he came to Wisconsin
in 1849; after several moves, located on a rented farm in Plymouth;
resided for eleven years, them removed to the farm he now owns.
When Mr. S. came to Wisconsin, he was the possessor of but $50,
but by economy and industry, has gained a competence of a fine
farm of sixty acres, which he values at $75 per acre; his farm
is well stocked, and he has a fine variety of fruit. In 1838,
he married Miss Martha HUSTON; she was born in Monroe Co., Penn.;
they have eleven children, seven daughters and four sons. Mrs.
S. is a member of the Disciples' Church.
