1850; son of Timothy
- BROWN, who died in Massachusetts at the age of 50 years.
Charles came to Wisconsin, Rock Co., in 1851; first settled
about nine miles northwest of Beloit; afterward moved to Beloit;
was there five years, then went to Illinois; after several changes
went, with four yoke of oxen and wagon, to Carroll Co., Iowa;
in 1872, went to Lincoln, Neb.; was there two years; went on
a buffalo-hunt for two months, and after many wanderings and
adventures, Mr. BROWN returned to Turtle in 1878. Married, on
Dec. 7, 1871, Minerva JEWELL, from Carroll Co., Iowa.
