- WILLIAM B. BAINES, farmer, Secs. 10, 11 and 3; P.O. Janesville;
born in 1830 in
- Northamptonshire, Eng.; came to America in 1849; to Wisconsin
in 1866, and settled on the farm he now owns, which consists
of 250 acres. Married Miss Elizabeth SIMON, of Oneida Co., N.Y.,
in 1852; they have five children - William A., Mary, Charles,
Frank and Oscar. He is a Master Mason in good standing and a
member of St. George's Benevolent Society; is liberal in politics
and religion. He is breeding Durham cattle, Norman horses, Poland-China
hogs and Cotswold sheep, which he keeps constantly in stock.
