- JOHN McMILLIN, farmer, Sec. 11; P.O. Whitewater, Walworth
Co., Wis., and Lima Center;
- born in County Derry, Ireland, in 1807; son of William McMILLIN.
He resolved to try his fortune in America, and landed at New
York in 1847; came to Rock County the same year and settled on
the farm he now owns, of 160 acres. Married Hannah, daughter
of William STEEL, of his native county, 1846. He is a Republican,
and, with his wife, a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church,
of Lima. Mr. and Mrs. McMILLIN are now enjoying the fruits of
their labor in a serene old age. He bought his farm in the wild
state, and has well improved it.
