- JOHN D. GODFREY, farmer and carpenter, Sec. 17; Lima Center;
born in Saratoga Co., N.Y.,
- in 1838; came to Wisconsin with his parents - John and Anna
GODFREY - in 1844 and settled on Sec. 8. He has spent his life
and been educated in Wisconsin. Married Miss Martha MULHOLLAND,
of Lima, in 1865; they have five children - George W., Harvey
E., John R., Annie L., and Herbert. Mr. GODFREY is a Republican,
and has served as Supervisor of the town of Lima several terms.
The family are members of the Lima Presbyterian Church. He
settled on his present farm of 180 acres in 1866.
