- JOSHUA M. FRITTS, farmer, Sec. 14; P.O. Lima Center; born
in Orange Co., N.Y., in 1822;
- is a son of George and Phoebe FRITTS; came to Wisconsin in
1848, and settled in Waukesha Co., Wis; removed to Rock Co. in
1855; owned the Lima store, and dealt in general merchandise
about five years, when he discontinued it for two years; opened
a grocery store in 1862, and he continued in the business until
he sold his store and bought the farm he now owns of 110 acres,
in 1868. Married Miss Sarah BARNES, daughter of Matthew and
Mary BARNES, in 1848; they have six children - George, Charles,
Daniel, William, Joseph and Mary. Several of the family are
members of the United Brethren Church of Lima. George FRITTS
married Miss Tryphena CINNAMON in 1875; they have one son - George
- who is with his father on the farm. Charles is farming in
Rush Co., Kan. Daniel is in Ithaca, N.Y., studying phonography.
William is studying medicine with Dr. STETSON, of Lima. Joseph
and Mary, both quite young, are with their parents.
