- The assembly consists of 100 members. They are chosen biennially
and receive $500 for their services during their term. The speaker
is chosen by the members and receives an additional $500 for
his services as speaker. The assembly of 1907 contains 76 republicans,
19 democrats, and 5 social democrats.

- EDWARD A. EVERETT (Rep.) was born at Beloit, Rock county,
Wis., March 23, 1861; educated in Beloit schools; engaged in
hotel business in Chicago for ten years; located at Eagle River,
Vilas county, in 1906, establishing the "Everett Hunting
and Fishing Resort," in which business he is now engaged.
Never before held a political office. Was elected member of the
assembly in 1904, and re-elected in 1906, receiving 2,845 votes
against 282 votes for Herman Zander (Dem.).
