- FREDERICK R. ROSSITER, marble-cutter, Evansville; born in
Rock Co., Wis., March 22,
- 1850; his father, Edmund ROSSITER, was one of Rock County's
early settlers; he was a native of England; came to Rock Co.
in 1844 or 1845; engaged in farming in Spring Valley Township.
He married in Rock Co. Miss ROBERTS, whose family were also among
the earliest settlers; in 1864, he removed to Iowa, where he
engaged in farming, in which he is still engaged. Frederick,
in January, 1877, purchased in Evansville, a marble manufacturing
business; he had been engaged in that business in Rockford, Ill.,
for six years. He married in Rockford, Ill., Jan. 3, 1874, Miss
Ella FRAMPTON, a native of New York City; they had two children.
