- MARSH HARNDEN, farmer, Sec. 21; P.O. Beloit; born in County
Kent, England, in 1822.
- Came to America in 1849 and remained in New York and New
Jersey till 1859, when he came to Beloit; he was engaged as a
farm hand till 1864; he then bought forty acres of land in Sec.21,
with residence and barn. He married, in England, Charlotta CLOAK;
they had ten children; she died in Beloit in 1871; he married
again in 1878, Eliza JONES. He enlisted in 1864 in the 43d W.V.I.
and was with his regiment till discharged at close of the war.
