- F. N. DAVIS, manufacturer of paper carpet; was born in Beloit
on Oct. 2, 1842. Mr. DAVIS
- organized the Beloit National Bank, which, in 1873, settled
up its business and paid off its creditors; after which, he commenced
the manufacture of paper carpet and a variation of paper articles,
which have found their way to Europe, where, in Cologne, Prussia,
and London, England, Mr. DAVIS has two factories. Mr. DAVIS is
President of a company who are about starting, in Beloit, the
manufacture of a new steam vacuum pump. He married, in 1864,
Ann S. DUNLAP, of Burlington, Iowa, niece of ex-Senator Richardson,
of Illinois; he has two children living - Walter and Genevieve;
his wife is a member of the Episcopal Church, at Beloit.
