- G. E. COWAN, farmer, Secs. 22 and 23; P.O. Edgerton; born
in Cayuga Co., N.Y., Aug. 14,
- 1811; always followed farming; came to Wisconsin in 1848,
and located on Section 14; purchased his present homestead in
1850. Married Mary Jane WARD in 1840, who was a native of Ira,
Cayuga Co.; born June 28, 1818, died in November, 1859. He owns
200 acres, under cultivation. He raises corn, oats, potatoes,
wheat, barley, and tobacco, poultry and stock.
