- WINARD DINGMON, farmer, Sec. 26; P.O. Footville; was born
in Amsterdam, N.Y., in 1817;
- came to Wisconsin in 1847, and located in town of Pleasant
Spring, Dane Co.; attended the first town meeting ever held in
the town, and was elected Town Treasurer; was Supervisor for
one year, and Chairman of Town Board of Supervisors for two years.
In 1862, he enlisted in 23d W.V.I., Co. I; was mustered out in
1863, at Lexington, Ky. In September of same year, he removed
to his present homestead. Married, in 1839, Miss M. J. DAILEY;
she was born in New York; they have two children living and have
lost two. Mr. D. owns seventy acres of land.
