LIST OF PRINCIPALS

   Evidently Lebanon High School started with a one or two year high school course and gradually developed into a four year course as indicated by the records below which are given by A. B. Downs as he has found them in old school reports.

   J. H. Noyes was the principal for a time in the old school building and was the first principal in the New school building on School Street that was dedicated Oct. 19, 1874.

   The school report in 1876 shows that J. H. Noyes was principal one term and E. W. Westgate, two terms.

   The first course of study of the High School and Grades was printed in the Free Press of July 23, 1880.

   E. W. Westgate was principal through the school year of 1882–83.

   The first class graduated in 1882. The first public graduation in the Town Hall was in 1883.

   C. C. Boynton was principal from 1883–1887.

   A. E. Whitten was principal the Spring term in 1888.

   Robert Forsyth was principal the fall and winter terms in 1888–1903-4.

   John Bacon was principal one term in 1905–6.

   Charles A. Crowell, Jr., was principal two terms in 1905–6 and continued until 1910.

   Frank Y. Hess, from 1910–1915.

   H. Leslie Sawyer, from 1915–1917.

   F. E. Pitkins, from 1917–1919.

   Philip H. Kimball, 1919–20.

   Caleb H. Niles, 1920–1922.
