Trouble for Judah
|
|
“…In 1762 Judah Wheeler was jailed for non-payment of
taxes to the Town of Westford, and was ordered to leave that
Town for good.”1 This
warrant2 would seem to reflect the
same episode, although it makes no mention of Westford.
If I have in mind the right Judah and the right
Sam(p)son (our 7GU, brother of
Oliver I) the offender and the
custodial officer were first cousins, grandsons of our 8GGP
Abraham and Tabitha Wheeler.
