The Munroes’ Neighborhood

Martha Wilkins1 locates the
homestead of Joseph Munroe “on
site now (ca. 1941) occupied by home of Mr & Mrs C. E.
Crossland, Westford St”.
Lapham2 says that by his time (1970)
the spot was occupied by “the home of Mrs. Alexander
Johnson on Westford Street.”

This is 566 Westford Street, which Ruth Wilkins3
identifies as the Johnson place. If she’s right, this is
the location of the original Munroe homestead in Billerica.
