May 29, 1910 - Bicycle Accident

Sidney BRIX, residing at York Terrace, West Minster, who is employed in the rigging house at Sheerness Dockyard, met with a nasty accident whilst riding on his bicycle near Minster on Sunday evening about six o'clock.  It appears that he was going down an incline, and was trying to avoid  `running down' a bluejacket, when he fell off his bicycle with tremendous force.  He was picked up unconscious, and removed in a cab to the residence of Dr. McArthur, and after treatment was taken home.  Mr Brix was seriously injured on the left side of his face, and it was found necessary to insert three stitches in his lip.  He was also badly bruised and suffering from shock.  Mr Brix, who has since been confined to bed, is progressing satisfactory.
