Edward Harrison

Edward Harrison is first mentioned in 1642 when he was issued a patent for 550 acres in Rappahanock. Then in 1664 Edward was given 420 acres by Colo. Bridges Freeman. Edward was deceased by May 10th 1679. We do not have a will for this Edward Harrison but he most have been related to Daniell as both men bought land near each other and most likely the father of Edward Harrison that worked for the Virginia Company as Clerk of Court, recording deeds as shown at the end of Patent Book No. 1 of the virginia land records, on the last page or end sheet, appears the following entry: This book was transcribed by Edward Harrison, in the year 1683. On June 6, 1654 an Edward Harrison came to James City County, Va transported by Edward Gilla.

Daniell Harrison

Daniell Harrison was in Lancaster Co., Virginia probably by 1642 but definitely by December 1663. On December 12, 1663 a Michael Armes bought 80 acres adjoining Daniell's land. Daniell bought 200 acres of land in Lancaster Co. on October 28, 1669. Then another 88 acres. Daniell and Mary had at least one son, Joseph, which can be proven by the following evidence. On December 12, 1663 a Michael Armes bought 80 acres adjoining Daniel's land. Then after Daniell's death in July 12 1692 George Heale bought land that bordered Joseph Harrison and Daniel Armes in Lancaster Co., Va. Joseph evidently inherited his father Daniell's home plantation next door to the Armes land inherited by Daniel Armes. Daniel received a patent on Nov 1, 1672 for 220 acres on the South side of Rappahannock river.[Rappahannock river ran across the south side of Lancaster county.]
Daniell Harrison was still alive in December 1975. On Feb 10 1675, Nicholas Hale went to court to petition to make Mr. Henry King as his guardian. Mr. King was dead by Dec 13 1675. Daniall signed the inventory papers for Henry' wife. Daniell's evidently did not leave a will but two years after signing those papers, a Daniell Harrison's Inventory d. 3 Oct 1677 Rec. 12 Dec 1677. WB 5, p. 44 was recorded.
Two years later an entry recorded May 10, 1679 shows land belonging to Daniell. Mary Harrison, the widow of Daniell, could here be securing her inheritance legally if no will for Daniell existed.

Joseph Harrison

Joseph evidently inherited his father's plantation.

Joseph Harrison [Will] died 23 Dec 1699. Wife, Frances made Executors of Joseph's will. Was Daniell underage or was he married living elsewhere? Some time within the next five years, 1704, Daniell shows up in Surry County.

Daniell Harrison

1704 Only four Harrisons appear on the 1704 quit rent rolls for Surrey Co: Benj Harrison, Nathaniel Harrison, Daniell Harrison and Capt Thomas Harrison. (Quit Rent Rolls of Va. 1704 p. 41)
We only know that Daniell had at least one son, Solomon.

Note: The old will and deed books of Charles City County were destroyed but notices are given
by the order books. Albemarle Parish Register, John Boddie gives William's birth as Wm 8/1/47.
In one place in the register Susannah is called Anne. A couple of Joseph's children had a John
and Ann Harrison for godparents.
[All I have on Solomon Harrison was what was given to me when we were at the Sussex courthouse.
The clerk of the court, Gary William's mother was a Harrison and descendant of Solomon. Gary
Williams gave Dan and I the 1756 Tithable list (Source: Sussex Co, Loose Reports) It showed
only two Harrisons. Joseph and John Harrison. Only one name appears between them.......Jonas
Crossland. (An Edward and Mary Crossland were godparents to a couple of Joseph Harrison's children.)
