In 1951 Kate Pickens Day finally was able to print Cousin Thomas Monroe Pickens' Pickens Family History. It is not clear when Cousin Monroe first started collecting data on the family, but it had to be between 1890 and 1930. It took many years for the Pickens Family Association particularly Kate Pickens Day to finally get the material printed.
At this point in time the family of Kate Pickens Day is not planning to re-publish this document. They still hold the copyright to the material, so it is their choose. Even though the original idea to publish the material was the Pickens Family Association.
What you are about to view is a transcript of the original book. My father, Sidney Pickens, purchased the book in the early 1960s. It is rather tattered, and well worn, but still very functional
There will be presented here both the original copy and eventually an annotated copy of the material.
Why the annotated copy?
Because time has proved some of the material incorrect, has added many more families, and needs to be updated. The copyright still belongs to the family of Kate Pickens Day, and is presented here as a
Research Tool and as
Documentation Purposes Only for the Pickens Family Archives and for the Pickens Searchable Database.
