Mt. Pisgah Pentecostal Church
The Mt. Pisgah Pentecostal Church is located just off of Highway 63 South, on Highway 594, in Pisgah Community. Rev. Michael Ulmer is the pastor. Bro. Ulmer came to the church from Texas about 2 years ago. He is a native of Laurel, MS.
The Mt. Pisgah church was begun about 71 years ago. Rev. Robert Crocker was the founding pastor. Two other ministers were instrumental in the church’s beginning. They were Rev. W.E. Gamblin and Rev. D. L. Welch.
The church just recently completed a Family Life Center, which includes a gym and other facilities for ministry to the church family and those who attend the church. The average attendance on Sunday morning is 175. The church has an active and growing congregation, and they are experiencing revival and a moving of the Spirit.
Their services are a combined Sunday School and worship service at 10 a.m with an evening evangelistic service at 6 p.m. Wednesday Bible Study and Prayer Meeting is at 7 p.m.. The youth have a special service on Friday nights at 7 p.m.
The Mt. Pisgah Pentecostal Church has a Church Board that is composed of Thomas White, Secretary and Treasurer; and Jimmy Welford, Phillip Parker and Clyde Sylvester as members.
The church recently hosted an Appreciation Brunch honoring the educators of the county. It was well received and will be repeated next October.
The Church has an active youth program, led by volunteers, and is presently seeking a Music Minister to direct the choir and lead the congregational singing.
Friday night, October 31, the church is sponsoring a Harvest Night Festival. The community is invited to attend this event and all the services at the church.
