LEAKESVILLE BIBLE MISSIONARY CHURCH

The Leakesville Bible Missionary Church is active in our community and is a part of the Southeast District of the Church Conference of Bible Missionary Churches. It is a strong mission-minded church, especially in missions overseas. This is definitely shown in the fact that they have more churches in foreign countries than in the United States.

Rev. Douglas Hillman, a minister since 1968, is the pastor of the church. Mr. Freddie Breland is the Song Leader for the worship services.

This church was started in 1986 in the home of Douglas and Bettye Hillman. In 1992, those in the congregation, with the help of the Southeast District of Bible Missionary Churches, helped them build a facility for a church so they could have a meeting place for regular services. Their District requires them to have a certain number of members before they are called a "church", so their congregation still has the status of a "mission", though they perform all the functions of a church. They are very active in helping those who are sick, have problems, or various needs in which they can be of service.

The times of their services are: Sunday - Sunday School 10:00; Worship Services at 11:00 and 6:00. On Wednesday evening, they have a 7:00 service. Their doors are always open to those who would like to visit with them and help in their church ministries.

The church has two revivals a year and also an Annual District Conference, which meets in Jasper, Alabama. They also have a ten-day Camp Meeting, the last two weeks of June each year, and anyone is welcome to attend. This meeting is also in Jasper, AL.

The church is located at 2710 Tom White Road, telephone 394-2461.
