HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH
The Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church has been in existence in Leakesville since 1988. Rev. Ronald Herzog serves as Priest for this church, as well as the St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Waynesboro. He has been with the church for four and one-half years.
Catholic Mass has actually been celebrated in Leakesville for more than thirty years. However, the present church, built by parishioners, was dedicated by Bishop Joseph L. Howze on November 27, 1988. The congregation numbers about 35 members, which represents fifteen families.
There are two major seasons for the church during the year: Advent-Christmas and Lent-Triduum-Easter. The majority of other Sundays are designated Sundays in Ordinary Time, which refers to the fact that these Sundays are numbered or ordered, and includes two groups. The first occurs between the end of the Christmas season and the beginning of Lent. The second resumes after the Easter season has ended, and concludes prior to Advent.
Mass is celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 910 Jackson Avenue, Leakesville, at 6:30 P.M. on Sundays and at 12:00 noon on Wednesdays.
All are welcome to join for the celebration of the Eucharist. For information, please feel free to call (601) 394-6761.
