Springhill United Methodist Church has been abandoned for several years now. It is out in the woods north of Newton. Mr. Frank Arnold told me about a month before he died that this was the original Mt. Zion M.E. Church that was located at the intersection of County Roads 30 and 20. The people used a team of oxen to move the building to its present spot.
