According to a deed found in the Dale County Courthouse, Book 33, page 169, dated 1944, this was the O.A.C. Acree Storehouse. Over the years it has housed the Aplin TV store, a cloth store, City Hall (Wilbur Poyner Mayor), Alabama Power Company, beauty shoppe, and the office for Scott's Sportswear. Bobby Sue Benton Sylvester ran a cafe and David Benton had a Restaurant here. About 1957 the city firetruck was housed in the rear of this same building.
