South Western View of Cazenovia, 1841

From John W. Barber and Henry Howe's 1841 Historical Collections of the State of New York ... page 256, is this great engraving of the village of Cazenovia.  It is apparently made on the spot using a camera lucida or some other optical drawing device as it as it is extremely accurate in all details.  I have identified the major buildings for easy reference.  Views of Chittenango, Hamilton, and Morrisville in Madison County, as well as hundreds of other communities across the state, are illustrated in this book.
