Binkley to fulfill the duties of Justice of the peace of this county. Blackstone F. Binkley came into court and took the oaths prescribed by law and is admitted as a Justice of the peace.

Page 207, Jan. 2, 1837, Hiram Wills will - A paper purporting to be the last will and Testament of Hiram Wills decd was produced in open court for probate and proved thus: Jeremiah Ellis & Michael Ellis the subscribing witnesses to said paper writing being duly sworn depose and say that they became such in the presence of said decedent and at his request and in the presence of each other and that they verily believe that he was of sound mind and memory at the time of executing said paper writing. Ordered that said paper writing be admitted to record as the last will and testament of the said Hiram Wills decd. Martha Wills came into court and gave bond in the sum of twenty five hundred dollars with Elizabeth James & Jeremiah Ellis her securities.

Page 208, Jan. 2, 1837, Thos Boaz decd Negroes to be sold - On the petition of Samuel Boaz, Elihu Boaz, Joshua Boaz, Jordon C William, William Boaz, Shadrack Boaz, William Gaskins & David Boaz made at last court representing that Thomas Boaz died in this county possessed of five Negro slaves. Charity and her two children Emily & John, Tilman & George -- & that said decedent left twelve legal heirs and that as equitable division of said slaves amongst said heirs cannot be made, it is ordered that the slaves be sold by Samuel Lewis one of the administrators of Thomas Boaz, on a credit of sixty days and the proceeds be divided amongst the heirs.

Page 208, Jan. 2, 1837, Jos Kellum Constable - Joseph Kellum produced a certificate from the Sheriff of this county, showing that he had been elected a constable of this county for District No. 16 to serve the first Saturday of March 1838 and tendered to the court a bond in the sum of one thousand dollars with John Davis & Sterling Fowler his securities.
Page 209, Jan. 2, 1837, Jacob Shane - Ordered by the court that Johnson K Blair keep Jacob Shane a lunitic at thrity seven and a half cents a day until otherwise directed by this court.
