_____ (damaged and unreadable) the twenty second day in the month of April thereupon _____ by David GLEN in behalf of the Heirs of Thomas GLEN a Certificate from the Commissioners for a preemption of 1000 acres of land lying in the first fork of Glens Creek about two miles above the forks including a small sinking spring imp’t made by David GLEN.   And where as I am Heir at Law to the said Thomas GLEN dec’d and the 1000 acres of Land is in the possession of others and is illegally with held from me Now in order to obtain my right to the said Land be it known that I the said William GLEN Heir at Law to the said Thos. GLEN dec’d have here by constituted & appointed my friend John BRACKINGRIDGE of the County of Fayette and state of Kentucky my true and Lawful attorney to investigate and establish my right to the said one thousand acres of Land or to such part there of as I may be intitled to and in the prosecution and investigation there of I do impower my said attorney to arbitrate the same if he shall think fiter to compromise my said right with any or all of the Claiments to the said Land let their Claim be founded or derived from whom it may and to Grant release discharge or do quittances (?) to receive the Rents profets or Issues there of or to receive Conveyance from any person or person who have the legal title there to here by relinquishing and Conforming all and whatsoever my said attorney shall Lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the premises in as full and ample manner as if I were personally present.  In witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal the 13th day of Nov. 179five.

In the Name of God Amen I JOHN GLENN of the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky am low and indisposed in Body but sound in mind and memory it having been appointed for all men Once to die I wish to dispose of my this worlds Goods in the following manner that is to say after all my just and Hones Debts punctually Paid I give and bequeath unto my Loving wife ELLENER GLENN all my all my Rale and Personel Estate During her Natural life Should She So long remain a widow - that is to say one old Black man known by the name of TOM also one old Black woman by the name of DOLL, one Negro Girl known by the name of MARIAH, also six head of Horses Supposed to be worth three hundred dollars also Twenty one hede of cattle supposed to be worth Two hundred dollars & one waggon and Gear supposed to be worth one hundred and fifty dollars and all my hogs about Eighty in Number and all my money that is out an Interest for which we have Bonds to show about twelve or thirteen Hundred dollars and all debts that is owing to me also five Head of Sheep and also all my household and kitchen furniture consisting of five beds supposed to be worth two hundred dollars also other household and _____ furniture including a loom worth as is supposed fifty dollars also four Plows Two axes and four h---- supposed to be worth Twenty dollars also all my wheat corn and vegatables that is on the farm and should I have omitted naming any property Belonging to me I wish it to go to her uce and Benefit Except one young mare 2 years old next spring named Fennix

I give and bequeath to my Step Daughter CATHY CARPENTER the Foregoing Goods and Chattles be to the use and Benefit of my Before mentioned wife as long as she remains a widdow shoud she marry the foregoing to be sold and my Wife ELLENOR to have the one there of all the price of my property and money that is now owring to me and the Ballance Put to Interest for the Benefit of my three Suns namely JOHN WESTLEY GLENN, WILLIAM OWEN GLENN and JAMES CARPENTER GLENN to be Equally divided amongst them I leave to my Loving wife ELLENNER my hole and sole Executrix and should she think proper to make use of any or all of my money or property for the purchase of Land or Negroes she is at liberty so to do this to be my Last Will and Testament wharunto I have set my hand and affixed my seal this Twenty first day of November 1819.
