Fine.  We all went to church.  A D. Wright preached the first sermon and then Mr Hutchinson after Lord's Prayer addressed us from 61st Isaiah 2nd and spoke in a most affecting manner.  He asked that the prayers of the very weakest might be raised for him.  We saw young Mr,. Stuart of Auchanchart at church.  Willie and I went down to see Mrs. Dower.

Tuesday 24th Nov

Very fine. Busy writing in the morning.  Willy & I quite unintentionally found ourselves at Banchory for a walk and met the Ramsays etc etc. I skipped about in a very opertic style for the behoof of the family in our room & thereby ran in great danger of being for ever after considered ' a great fool'.  I consider it courageous to run that risk in such a spirited manner.  Willie & I got a sad fright.  We both fancied we felt a slight shock of an earthquake.  We heard a distinct rumbling noise.  Papa paid a visit to the school and gave Mr. Wisely something handsome.

Wednesday 25th

Lovely day.  We were busy packing all morning. Starved ourselves in the garden in the afternoon. Gathered the last roses.
